These cups are made in Shiga Prefecture. They have interesting natural crazing texture which varies from one cup to another. The ceramist skilfully controlled the specially aged white clay (from Tamba Sasayama) blown onto the surface of the cup made of Shigaraki clay. Different clay shrinkage temperatures during firing process resulted in the formation of the cracks. The interior of the cups are painted with an original manganese glaze mix. The contrast of the antique golden rust-like interior and neutral matte cracked exterior exudes a soft-minimalist feel and look.
